Maxie

Features

The stuff you log ten times a day, made quick.

Feeds, nappies, sleep and growth, on both phones. Every screen below is the real app.

Feeds

Breast or bottle, in a couple of taps

Bottle opens on last time's amount, so a repeat is one tap on Save. Breast has the next side picked and the timer runs until one of you stops it. Breast milk and formula can share one bottle entry.

The Log a feed sheet with two choices, Breast with the next side ready, and Bottle filled in from the last one
Nappies

Wet, dirty or mixed, with an undo

Three buttons on the first screen. One tap and it's saved. Wrong tap? You've got five seconds to undo, and you can edit it later.

A dirty nappy just saved, with Add detail and Undo buttons
Sleep

Tap to start, tap to stop

Tap Start when the baby goes down and Stop when they wake. Whoever's up can stop it, and the other phone sees it end. It also shows how long they've been awake.

Dark mode: the Sleep card with a nap timer running and a big Stop button
Both phones

A note for whoever's on next

Invite the other carer with a code. You each get your own login and the same records, and new entries land on the other phone in about two seconds. A handover note stays up top until you close it.

  • Works offline and catches up later
Dark mode: a handover note from Sam at the top of the home screen saying the last bottle was 110 mL and the baby is down for the night
History · Day

The whole day on one timeline

Every feed, nappy and sleep against the clock. A long stretch or a cluster feed jumps out. Tap a block to edit it.

History · Week

Seven days side by side

See when the long sleep lands and when the feeds bunch up. Tap a day to open it, or swipe back through earlier weeks.

The History week view, seven days side by side with every entry as a coloured block by time of day
History · List

Every entry, newest first

The week in order, grouped by day, with bottle amounts, breastfeed minutes on each side and everyone's notes.

Dark mode: the History list for 21 to 27 September, with naps, nappies, bottles and a breastfeed showing left and right minutes
Summary

Averages for when the nurse asks

Today's totals, then 7, 14 or 30-day averages for sleep, feeds and nappies, awake time included. Tap Nurse PDF and you've got a page to hand over.

The Summary tab for bottles, showing 7.3 bottles and 757 mL a day, with a seven-day chart of breast milk and formula
Growth

Measurements on the WHO charts

Weight, length and head circumference, each plotted on the WHO growth standards for your baby's age and sex, from birth to 5 years.

Dark mode: the Growth screen, with weight plotted on the WHO percentile curves and a list of measurements from nurse visits
Milestones

Firsts, when they happen

A short list of firsts, grouped by the age they often turn up. Tick one and it goes into the history with the date. Every baby gets there in their own time.

Compared with the notes app

Most people start in Notes. Here's where it stops working.

A shared note does the job for a fortnight, until two tired people type into it at once.

Nothing against Notes. It's how Maxie started.
